Unlock the secrets and find the hidden gems in our valley, is the message being sent to hundreds and thousands of potential visitors throughout the state during August through to October.
Manning Valley Tourism is launching a promotional campaign in August, and the key to unlocking the secrets is to visit
The website is packed with information, and visitors can book a holiday to our region so the secrets can be revealed.
It is going to be a huge month with tourism operators gearing up for the September-October school holidays and the campaign aiming to increase visitation to our region over this period and beyond.
Manning Valley Tourism was successful in gaining $38.5K worth of funding from Tourism NSW through the Regional Partnership Program, and this has been matched with tourism partners ‘local industry’ support. This enables a campaign spend of $70,000 to externally promote the region.
To do this, on 14 August our new TV commercials will hit TV stations throughout northern Sydney, Newcastle and the Hunter Valley, on the Central Coast, in the New England area, throughout northern NSW and all the way up to the Gold Coast. At the same time as the TV commercials go to air, there will be extensive bus advertising in Newcastle promoting the Manning Valley and enticing potential visitors to ‘Unlock the Secrets’. There will also be print, web banner and Facebook advertising.
In conjunction with this campaign, Manning Valley Tourism is launching our stylish and vibrant new Visitors Guide for the region. 100,000 copies have been printed, and the new visitors guide really sets the Manning Valley apart from other regions. There is a focus on beautiful images taken by various local photographers, and the guide incorporates the branding used on the town entrance signage. It is printed on 100% sustainable paper stock, in line with our ‘naturally’ theme.
However, the new Visitors Guide is not just for visitors. It’s full of information on attractions, major events and will inspire everyone to get out and enjoy our environment. We encourage the community to come to the Visitor Information Centre and collect a few copies after the 15 August. It’s perfect to have at home and can be sent to family and friends who are thinking about visiting our area. The guide will also be featured on the home page of the Manning Valley tourism website.
All these activities aim to increase visitation, and further additions are being completed to the Manning Valley tourism website, to coincide with the launch of the campaign. The site is still receiving a 73% increase of visitation since it was first launched in October 2010.
After the floods in June, we need visitors to know that they are welcome because we are open for business, and what better time to discover the Manning Valley and ‘Unlock the Secrets’ than in spring!
On Monday 15 August the official launch of the campaign will take place at the Visitor Information Centre at 21 Manning River Drive, at 1pm. We encourage all tourism partners, tourism industry who may not be partners but want to find out more, community groups and local businesses to attend. RSVP to kathy.cooper@gtcc.nsw.gov.au or phone 6592 5402 for catering purposes.
