The Manning Regional Art Gallery provides a range of cultural and artistic experiences to residents of Greater Taree and visitors to the area.
The Gallery is committed to curating more than 12 exhibitions each year and is responsible for providing access to touring exhibitions otherwise unavailable to residents of the Manning and surrounds. A number of education programs are developed by the Gallery each year to involve community participation with the aim of increasing public access to, and understanding of, art. In 2004 the Manning Regional Art Gallery began the Aboriginal Traditional Art Revival project, which includes the research and identification of appropriate local Indigenous artefacts for collection, as well as an oral and photographic history research of over 20 local Elders. The Gallery is supported by Friends of the Manning Regional Art Gallery, a volunteer group of supporters who provide a link between the Gallery and the community. Their activities raise the profile of visual arts in the Manning Valley.
